Indian paddler Manav Thakkar topped the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings and became world number 1 in the Under-21 men's singles category. He was 90 years old.  He was appointed as the 14th Governor of Karnataka in 2002 by the NDA government headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
